Jose Mourinho insists Henrikh Mkhitaryan has started the new season in fine form because the pair understand each other much better.
The Armenian has started both of our Premier Leauge games so far and has registered four assists, proving he has what it takes to perform this year.
He initially struggled following his move from Borussia Dortmund last year, struggling to nail down a place in the first-team but it seems like he’s impressed the Portuguese boss this time round.
Speaking about his talent, Mourinho believes he has the talent to guide the side forward.
“I think Henrikh understands me, and to be honest, I understand him because in the beginning of the season if he understands me better, he would have started better,” Jose said.
“But at the same time, if I understand him better, I would probably help him in a faster way than I did. But, we spent our time together, working together, learning each other. The second part of last season was good for him and I believe with his talent that this season is going to be even better.”
It was clear how talented he was last season but it’s great to finally see him performing and getting more comfortable in a United shirt.
He is a player with so much potential Old Trafford and Mourinho will be glad he’s started to repay his faith in the Armenian.
