Manchester United’s pursuit of Ivan Perisic is close to dead as Inter Milan remain unwilling to move from their unjustifiable valuation, according to BBC’s Simon Stone.
Jose Mourinho was hoping to sign Perisic on a cheap earlier in this summer as they looked to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, however, after raising the funds through smaller deals, they have been trying to keep hold of their star asset.
The Italian club were hoping to get around £48m for Perisic and were only willing to negotiate if Anthony Martial was included in the deal, going on loan the other way.
Simon Stone has now confirmed a deal is 99% dead.
Told Perisic to @ManUtd is 99% dead. Clubs were close re fee at one point but Inter owners dug heels in.

Perisic was said to be keen on a United move but with no options ahead as Inter dig their heels in, he’ll have no option but to sign a new deal tying himself down at the San Siro.
He’s been a vital player to their plans and has also been offered a new bumper contract as it looks like another player has used United to get himself a better deal at their current club as supporters have seen in the past.
