Manchester United fans were full of praise for Anthony Martial during their side’s 2-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday.
The Frenchman was handed a place in the starting XI by Jose Mourinho after claiming goals from the bench against West Ham United and Swansea City in recent weeks.
And he duly impressed with an emphatic, confident display on the left hand side, bombing forward at will and earning his side a penalty in the second half.
Supporters didn’t hesitate when it came to lauding the 21-year-old for another accomplished display out wide.
Right decision from José Mourinho to reward Anthony Martial for his brilliant cameos by starting him vs Leicester. Big performance needed!

Thought Martial was very very good again today. Very encouraging start to the season from him

Thought Martial had an outstanding game. The way he varied his play and drifted central then wide was brilliant to see. Confidence is high. pic.twitter.com/Vga7GvozLs

Don't you just get up from your chair in excitement when Martial gets the ball? The way he dribbles it past defenders. So smooth! #MUNLEI

Confidence makes a monumental difference. Last term, following a subpar Euro 2016, Martial somehow looked isolated on the pitch, like a beacon without its lights on. That fizzing, effervescent aura that surrounded him under Louis van Gaal was gone.
Against Leicester, however, it was well and truly back. Assurance and coolness teemed through his veins from the very start. And he did much more than silkily breeze past Danny Simpson: he involved himself in United’s overall play more than ever before, linking up nicely with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and sending purposeful passes all over the pitch. He was itching to be involved, to have an impact. There is something truly alluring to the way he glides across the surface.
Jose Mourinho has a truly promising dynamic for this season on the left hand side. Both Marcus Rashford and Martial have shown enough to stake a claim for a constant spot in the starting lineup, and the Portuguese will want to see the pair, through friendly competition, push themselves to excel – to be better than the other – over the next nine months
