Zlatan Ibrahimovic in line to return from injury ahead of schedule

Manchester United are confident that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to action for Manchester United earlier than expected this season.

The big Swede suffered damage to the cruciate and meniscus in his right knee during Man United’s 2-1 over Anderlecht back in April and was subsequently released from the club in June.

But he has recently agreed a new one year deal with the club after showing promising signs of recovery whilst stationed at Carrington over the last few months.

The striker, four months in, has started jogging without any problems and will, according to insiders at the club (via Clubcall), start doing work with the ball over the next week ahead as he continues to make monumental steps towards recovery.

Ibrahimovic has pin-pointed a return to action by the time United play Tottenham Hotspur in late October – a full two months before anybody else would even imagine making a full recovery. Even in a state of convalescence, Zlatan still rules supreme.

Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, has been more coy about a recovery date, noting he expected to see him back to full strength by January.

That said, we are talking about a man whose knee tendons, as discovered by surgeon Dr Freddie Fu, are three times bigger than normal ones, so don’t rule anything out.
