Paul Pogba deservedly earned the nickname ‘Agent P’ after convincing Romelu Lukaku to pick Manchester United over Chelsea back in July, and he was at it again following France’s 4-0 drubbing of the Netherlands on Thursday night.
His next client was none other than Thomas Lemar, who was centre of attention on what was – from a Man United fan’s perspective – a hilarious deadline day.
The French winger was subject to a £92m bid from Arsenal, with Alexis Sanchez set to join Manchester City, but Arsene Wenger pulled the plug on the deal after concluding that a move for Lemar couldn’t be completed in time.
And Pogba, having just produced a scintillating display against the Netherlands, was quick to have a few words with the talented winger after the game, teasing supporters by once again using the ‘Agent P’ tag on an Instagram post of him and Lemar.
Deadline day revealed that Lemar would indeed consider a move and that Monaco, more importantly, will sell him for a certain price. Jose Mourinho should take note. He made it clear over the summer that he wanted a winger and the Frenchman, according to reports, would prefer a move to United over Arsenal in the future.
And he would be a superb addition: superb on the ball, devastatingly fast, skilful, blessed with good vision and, as shown in emphatic fashion on Thursday, capable of finding the target.
Over to you, Agent P.
