After Marcus Rashford‘s man of the match performance in England’s 2-1 win over Slovakia this week, can Jose Mourinho afford to leave him out of Manchester United’s starting XI against Stoke City?
I don’t think he can but at the same time I’d also love to see both Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku start the game, so here’s a potential starting XI which could work for Man United that allows all three players to start:
Pushing Henrikh Mkhitaryan to a central position will definitely get the best out of his ball running. Nobody runs with the ball at his feet quite as gracefully as Mkhitaryan does and having Rashford and Martial flanking him with Lukaku up front? That’s a recipe for a deadly counter-attack for sure.
Rashford also seems to play very well out on the right flank because he can whip deliveries in and crosses is an area United need to improve in to get the most out of Lukaku.
Some might say this is shoehorning all of United’s best attackers into a line-up but I disagree. Do you? Let me know in the comments.
