Pogba was handed the armband for Manchester United’s Champions League opener with FC Basel on Tuesday but only lasted 16 minutes before limping off with a hamstring problem.
He went for a scan on Wednesday and it was revealed he could spend up to six weeks on the sidelines, missing Man United’s trip to Anfield as a result.
And Mourinho has confirmed that Pogba will not be involved any time soon, ruling him out for Sunday’s upcoming clash against Everton on Sunday.

There is never a preferable time for your star midfielder to be out for a month, but Pogba’s injury at this stage, just as United are riding on a crest of attacking momentum and scoring for fun, feels decidedly cruel.
The verve, fluidity, confidence, and indeed general presence brought by the 24-year-old can never be replaced. He is an indispensable nucleus of this United side.
