Manchester United fans were delighted to see midfielder Nemanja Matic continue his brilliant start to the season as the Serb scored for his country in a 3-2 defeat to Austria.
Matic is yet to score for Man United, but has been instrumental in the Reds’ excellent start to the season which sees them joint top of the Premier League and top of their UEFA Champions League group.
Playing for Serbia on Friday night, Matic scored an equaliser in the 83rd-minute, making it 2-2.
Controlling a loose ball in the ball fantastically, Matic touched it onto his left foot and rifled it past the goalkeeper.

One Reddit user, ekimunited8, said the goal could help Matic’s United form: “Great for his goal scoring confidence. He’s been spectacular as a defensive holding midfielder. He could use a bit of confidence with the strikes outside the box that we all know he has in him.”
United fans will be looking forward to seeing if Matic can continue his fantastic form in big games. Jose Mourinho‘s side face Liverpool next Saturday after the international break, and have games against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the next month, too.
Matic has been incredible so far, but in games against weaker opposition. He’ll show his true worth in the coming weeks, starting with Saturday clash at Anfield.
