Zlatan Ibrahimovic is edging closer to a return for Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic may return for Manchester United sooner than most expected this season if reports are to be believed.

The Swedish striker has been injured for the Red Devils since that fateful day in the Europa League but appears to be recovering well.

Never shy of setting targets and absolutely destroying them, it appears Ibrahimovic is aiming for a remarkable return.

According to Football 365, the former PSG man is set to return on a specific date with Arsenal at the Emirates in December the time and place marked out on the calendar.

Having Zlatan available would be useful should Jose Mourinho need to call upon his tall striker in what could prove to be a crucial clash against the Gunners.

The forward previously spoke to Inside United and here’s what he had to say: “When I am playing again I don’t want any excuses that I was injured, or ‘he just came back, this is his first game.’

“No – I want to feel the same pressure I had before because everything happened. I am looking forward to that moment.”

The man is clearly a born winner and his injury has only lit a fire inside of him that fans can see in his eyes.

His due return has been almost marketed like a campaign with many eager to see just how he’ll perform in Mourinho’s new look United.

The Red Devils have hardly struggled without the big forward but Ibrahimovic would certainly add to Jose’s arsenal.

The Portuguese manager is known for his love of options when it comes to tactics and Zlatan represents just that, as he is a different player to Romelu Lukaku.

The pair competing for the same game time can only be good for themselves and for United, with fans having to look only as far as Rashford and Martial for an example as to how it benefits the squad.

Will Ibrahimovic return to punish Arsenal? Will Lukaku even allow the Swede to get a sniff of action? Where will United be in the table by then? Fans are buzzing with excitement!
