Holding midfielder Nemanja Matic continued his impressive start to life at Old Trafford with a fine display against rivals Liverpool.
The Red Devils battled with the Reds at Anfield for a single point and despite the quiet performance from his teammates, Matic played rather well.
The Serbian helped his country secure World Cup football during the international break and helped his club get a draw against an intense Liverpool team.
United appeared sluggish and sloppy against their opponents but thanks to a solid performance from Nemanja, they managed to keep a clean sheet.
He didn’t put in the most eye catching display but was statistically sound and present all over the field as usual.

Six tackles is the typical number one would expect from Matic but more impressively his passes and dribbles are higher than that of a normal defensive midfielder would have.
The former Chelsea man is capable dictating tempo and playmaking just as much as he is capable at intercepting and tackling.
His experience as a former attacking midfielder certainly helps him in that regard and his dribbles often relieve pressure from his teammates much the same way Paul Pogba does.
Should the Frenchman have been present for the game, he may have tilted the result in United’s favour and helped Nemanja in the centre of the park.
However, Matic partnered up with his feisty teammate Ander Herrera instead and the duo helped the Red Devils get a respectable draw.
Jose Mourinho will now be looking to turn his attention to the club’s next fixture against Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday, where three points will be the order of the day.
