Jose Mourinho has confirmed that there are no changes from the Manchester United team that claimed a 1-0 win in Lisbon earlier this week ahead of the clash with Huddersfield Town.
Here are three players Mourinho must turn to from his limited options as Man United take on Huddersfield in the Premier League for the first time ever.
The Englishman has started to stake a real claim for a permanent spot in recent weeks with a series of disciplined, energetic displays – capped off, of course, by his superb in-swinging delivery – and Mourinho will need him to put pressure on the home side from the start.
And with Antonio Valencia likely to be rested on Saturday after featuring against both Liverpool and Benfica, Young could be called upon to feature at right-back.
His inclusion in the starting XI really isn’t a matter of debate. With Pogba and Fellaini still on the sidelines, the Serbian’s equanimity in possession and sheer force is nothing short of indispensable. He is the controller, the one capable of taking the tension out of a game with a few smart touches.
Huddersfield are bound to opt for an aggressive approach, especially in midfield, and the Serbian will be the key to dominating the ball and maintaining a sense of control in Yorkshire.
Mourinho will want to see the ball at Martial’s feet as much as possible on Saturday. He will most likely go up against captain Tommy Smith and the sight of your skipper being sat down early on will naturally send a few chills throughout the Huddersfield side.
He was rested in Lisbon, coming on to humilate Douglas late on, and will be fresh and ready to inflict damage on the left hand side.
