Manchester United looking to conclude £30m deal for Carlos Soler from Valencia – report

Manchester United are looking to conclude a £30million deal for Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler.

The transfer would take place next summer, meaning Soler would make its debut for United in the 2018/19 season.

Due to financial issues, the Mail on Sunday report, Valencia are unlikely the to force United to pay the full £75 million buyout clause in size current contract.

The 20-year-old is a regular at the Mestalla and plays for Spain’s under-21 international side.

The price stated by the Mail on Sunday appears remarkably cheap for a player of Soler’s standard and age, though Valencia’s financial issues will help United’s cause.

Jose Mourinho reportedly sees Soler as the final piece in his midfield jigsaw, set to play alongside this summer’s signing from Chelsea, Nemanja Matic, and last summer’s signing, Paul Pogba.

United are keen to get their transfer business done early, after reaping the rewards of doing such this summer with the £75million signing of Romelu Lukaku from Everton and the £35million signing of Matic from Chelsea, now seen as a bargain.

It seems unlikely that the market for Soler would be just United, and news of the Premier League club’s interest may spark interest from other major European clubs.

United’s interest started in Soler when he made his debut for Valencia last season in La Liga. At the age of 20, Soler has now made 35 appearances for Valencia’s first team.
