Manchester United lost to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 1-0 but Nemanja Matic was still one of the better, if not best, performer for the Red Devils.
United needed a win to keep up with Manchester City after they beat Arsenal earlier on in the day but Jose Mourinho‘s men failed to secure even a single point.
The loss puts the side in an uncomfortable position with their rivals now breathing down their necks whilst losing serious ground on Pep Guardiola’s team.
Nemanja Matic‘s current club are now eight points away from their cross town league leaders and now need to put together a serious run of form to close the gap.
It’s still November however so there is plenty of time to turn things around and the upcoming international break is welcome for once to hopefully help put a sore loss behind the side.
Proves selling Matic was the worst decision ever made. They only won 1-0 instead of 4-0 like last year.

Matic is actually a midfield hero.

Matic can't run MF on his own. Lukaku can't attack on his own. Too many gone missing in Pogbas absence

I don't even want to imagine where United would be in the big games without Matic this season.

Aside from the post-mortem if there is such thing as a United MOTM has to go to Matic. Consistently superb. Knows his role and executes it👏

Ander Herrera was tasked with playing alongside the Serbian but it was clear that the two weren’t capable of dealing with the Blues as Henrikh Mkhitaryan went anonymous.
Matic was head and shoulders above anyone else in his side and was let down by his teammates who could’ve provided more support to at least help United get a draw.
Expectations are that Pogba will be back after the international break and there’ll be huge pressure on the star Frenchman’s shoulders to hit the ground running.
