Manchester United players on international duty – where and when

by Leo Nieboer

There aren’t many worse things for a football fan than heading into the international break following a defeat but the two week hiatus will, at least, give Jose Mourinho‘s men, depending on who they are, a chance to impress their boss, recover, or simply rediscover some confidence ahead of the clash with Newcastle United.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah, for one, will be given another chance assert himself at a senior level for Holland after receiving a late call-up, whilst Matteo Darmian and Victor Lindelof go head to head in a crucial World Cup playoff.

Elsewhere, Ashley Young could make his first England appearance since 2013 and Romelu Lukaku, who didn’t score for Manchester United over October, has a chance to rediscover his goalscoring touch against Mexico and Japan.
