The Frenchman has missed 12 games for Manchester United since pulling up during the early stages of a 3-0 win over FC Basel in the Champions League.
He observed most of his recovery process with a private medical team in the United States and Jose Mourinho, in turn, was coy about when he’d return, but did confirm following the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea that he was making good progress.
And according to the Mirror‘s David McDonnell, Pogba will be integrated into full training next week ahead of being included in the squad for the clash with Rafa Benitez’s side.
Mourinho will not want to rush the Frenchman back to the nucleus of United’s set-up, especially with all the pressure now on him to deliver as soon as he returns, and could therefore give it a week before handing him a place in the starting XI.
But Premier League clashes with Newcastle, Brighton and Watford, along with a trip to Basel, serve as ideal opportunities to give Pogba a chance to regain full strength and potency ahead of vital December clashes with Arsenal and Manchester City.
