Anthony Martial wins Manchester United’s goal of the month award for October

Anthony Martial has claimed the club’s goal of the month award for his effort vs Tottenham that helped the Red Devils secure all three points at Old Trafford.

The young Frenchman came off the bench that day to rescue Manchester United from another dull draw and continued his impressive form.

Having competed with Jose Mourinho favourite Marcus Rashford for most of the season for minutes, Martial has taken his substitute role in his stride.

Rather than complain and fuss, Anthony has been substituted onto the pitch several times this season to help his side take apart opposition teams.

In fact, the former Monaco’s displays have earned him the Player of the Month award for Manchester United in the month of October as well.

Fans have also called for the striker turned winger to start more often in Mourinho’s teams as they feel that he deserves more minutes.

During the last international break, Martial was unfortunate to miss out on representing his country but his continued good form couldn’t be ignored twice in a row as Didier Deschamps recalled him into the France set-up.

Scoring goals and getting international caps; one would be excused for thinking that Anthony would be happy but the youngster is gunning for even more game time and starts.

Manchester United scored seven goals in seven games during October resulting in four wins, two losses and a single draw.

The Red Devils are now eight points away from league leaders Manchester City and will need Anthony Martial to continue his goalscoring run to help them close the gap.
