Ryan Giggs has insisted that he wouldn’t swap Marcus Rashford for any other young player in the world at Manchester United.
Rashford only recently turned 20 and has already achieved a huge amount in his Old Trafford career, and also with England. The striker has consistently proved himself and coped with a whole host of challenges.
Giggs worked with Rashford when then-Man United manager Louis van Gaal brought the Englishman into the side for the Reds’ UEFA Europa League game against FC Midtjylland. Rashford scored a double fin a 5-1 win, and went onto score another double on his Premier League debut against Arsenal.
Under Jose Mourinho, his importance to United has only increased.
“I’ve worked with Marcus and seen him at close hand and how much of a talent he is,” Giggs told Sky Sports.
“However, it is his work rate and commitment which are really what makes him such a valuable asset for Manchester United.
“You wouldn’t swap him for any other young player right now.”
Rashford is one of United’s key players now, undoubtedly. Mourinho has started him in eight of United’s 11 Premier League games this season.
