Manchester United target Leon Goretzka has opened up on when he’ll make a decision on his future.
The Schalke midfielder has been drawing interest from a number of top European clubs, most notably Man United who he was recently linked with.
Goretzka has also been in good form for Germany’s international side, and is out of contract in summer, meaning he could sign a pre-contract agreement at United in January.
Responding to rumours about his future, the 22-year-old said: “I have to find out for myself what the next step should be.
“I have to consider a million things. I am a person who is very meticulous in such decisions. I play through all the scenarios. So I need time.
“There doesn’t exist a deadline, but I think we are in the final phase.
“The final decision will be made in January.”
Goretzka hasn’t confirmed that there is interest from United, or confirmed that he is interested in moving to Old Trafford.
But the rumours will continue for one of Europe’s most exciting young midfielders.
There is little doubt United will be looking over the next year or so for another midfielder, with Nemanja Matic in his late 20s, Marouane Fellaini potentially leaving in summer and Ander Herrera also nearing his 30s.
The German has also been linked to Bayern Munich, Juventus and Liverpool. He’s one of the Bundesliga’s most highly-rated talents.
The Reds have also been linked to Valencia’s 20-year-old midfielder Carlos Soler.
