Manchester United fans were satisfied with Belgian international Romelu Lukaku after his performance vs CSKA Moscow who he managed to score against.

The powerful striker ended a goal drought that was running worryingly long with a beautiful finish assisted by none other than Paul Pogba.

Despite Lukaku’s lack of goals he still put in solid displays, enough to convince his manager not to drop him for the club’s other strikers.

His hold up play and work-rate are second to none with fans recognising his determination, never putting any real pressure on him to grab a goal.

Partnered with Marcus Rashford up front, Romelu tormented the CSKA Moscow defence and helped spark a comeback win vs the Russian side much to fans’ delight.

Romelu Lukaku was initially brought in from Everton for a hefty fee but quickly cast aside any doubt over his ability with a rich vein of form at the start of the season.

An injury to Pogba and Manchester United’s attacking midfielders disappearing meant that Lukaku’s goals started to dry up.

The player himself though was criticised more by opposition fans, who thought he didn’t perform against the bigger sides in the league, than supporters of the club itself.

With United’s French star back in the starting XI, both Romelu and his teammates have benefitted tremendously with better results coming from the players.

Jose Mourinho‘s decision to partner the Belgian in recent games has also seen the Red Devils’ attack become less predictable and more penetrating as the Manchester side prepare to clash with their rivals in what could prove to be a crucial fixture.
