Manchester United fans couldn’t have asked for more than a Marcus Rashford goal vs CSKA Moscow in the Champions League ahead of the Manchester derby and the player delivered.
The Red Devils fell behind vs the Russian side just before half time after some dubious officiating but had the English youngster and Romelu Lukaku to thank for a comeback victory.
The pair were partnered together to great effect as Jose Mourinho decided to continue with the recent success of the 3-5-2 formation.
With Juan Mata in behind of the two as well, United had a good balance of playmaking and penetration to trouble the Russian side.
Paul Pogba was also heavenly involved with much of the club’s positive attacking but it was Rashford who stole the show with his goal.
What a turnaround! So happy for Lukaku to get his confidence boosting goal and Rashford to be clinical for once. ????

???? Rashford had averaged a goal or assist every 90 minutes this season

Pogba imperious…Lukaku strong and deserved his goal…Smalls big a rock tonight…good to see the kids get a run…Shaw ok going forward but…however, Rashford unplayable with his pace…thought he was excellent…final ball will come #qualified

Should Mourinho continue playing a two striker formation however, then there should be plenty of minutes available for all of them.
With Ibrahimovic likely to only remain at the club for this season, there’s a case to be made for Rashford and Martial to finally be the side’s two main strikers.
Lukaku though is also still relatively young and United fans will love the day they can see all three consistently start together, tearing apart opposition defences with ease.
