Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s Manchester United career is in serious peril after a row with Jose Mourinho following a video analysis session.
The Armenian started the season in fine form, assisting five times in the opening three Premier League games of the season. His form has dipped since mid-September, with assists and goals having clouded over a collection of poor performances.
He was finally dropped, after continually being given chances by Mourinho, following Man United’s 1-0 defeat away to Premier League champions at Stamford Bridge. Since then, he’s appeared in red just once: as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
It was after that performance that Mourinho criticised Mkhitaryan in a video analysis session at United’s Carrington Aon Training Complex, according to ESPN FC.
The 28-year-old took exception to Mourinho’s analysis of his performance, responding to claims that his defensive work rate wasn’t good enough and singling out a mistake from the attacking midfielder with the rest of the squad in attendance.
Mkhitaryan responded to Mourinho and they were still debating the issue as they walked in the corridors of Carrington outside the video analysis suite.
Inter Milan have been linked to Mkhitaryan, with Jose Mourinho appeared to hint that a January exit was possible, and Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario is reported to be a possible part of the deal which could happen next month.
