Manchester United fans were left enraged by Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind after their performances in the match vs Bristol City.

Darmian in particular let down supporters and his teammates alike with the Italian responsible for the home side’s sucker punch goal.

Bristol managed to score in the last gasp of the match to secure their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup and knock United out of the first piece of silverware they could have won.

Unfortunately for the Red Devils they will not be able to hold onto the League Cup this season and we’ll have to hope their performances in the FA Cup and Champions League fare better, particularly since the Premier League seems well out of reach.

Blind was also at the receiving end of some of the fans criticism and both the Dutchman and Matteo will surely be worried of their United careers if not their footballing careers.

Initial thoughts on Matteo Darmian‘s arrival to Old Trafford from Torino was that he was a solid defender first and foremost.

United’s right flank was in need of a player of that ilk and so the Italian was welcomed to the club with open arms.

Antonio Valencia was still learning the tricks of the trade for the position at the time having mastered the attacking aspects but not the defending.

This meant Darmian quickly started his time at Old Trafford brightly but faded just as fast and has not recovered since.

Blind meanwhile is another case entirely and for all his versatility can’t seem to save himself a spot in Jose Mourinho‘s squad.
