Juan Mata explains why Manchester United will benefit from Dubai trip

Juan Mata has noted that Manchester United’s trip to Dubai serves as a chance for the side to develop team spirit as well as recuperate following a busy December schedule.

Jose Mourinho‘s men endured a relentless festive period during which they played ten games in 31 days before their 2-0 win over Derby County last Friday.

Their win over the Championship side has given them license to endure a ten day break before taking on Stoke City on January 15.

And Mata, writing in his weekly blog, noted that the warm weather training camp in Dubai would serve as the perfect way to recharge the batteries whilst providing the squad with a chance to bond after a challenging month.

“This five-day training camp is going to be very positive for us to recharge the batteries, in order to get ready for the five thrilling months of the competition that lie ahead,” he said.

“Besides, I think spending time with the team-mates apart from the usual daily training can be very good. We will have time to train, chat, to strengthen the group.

“It’s like a break in the routine of the day-to-day activity and that is always positive. I hope we come back full of energy for the game against Stoke at Old Trafford.”

Man United will be staying at the ‘Royal Mirage’, a resplendent, marble adorned Arabian paradise with a 1 kilometre long private beach and rooms costing over £600 a night, as they earn some much needed rest – and there aren’t many better places to do just that.

Supporters will hope that some warm weather training – designed to help tired muscles recover – helps Antonio Valencia and Michael Carrick return to full fitness ahead of the business end of the campaign.
