Jose Mourinho to commit to Manchester United with contract extension: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will reportedly see his contract extended with the club after the board have decided to show some faith in him.

The Portuguese boss moved to Old Trafford after being sacked by Chelsea due to their poor performances in the Premier League at the time.

Mourinho has since proven that the unusual season at Stamford Bridge was just a one off, impressing fans and critics alike in his first season in charge of his new side.

The first campaign under his management saw the Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League all sit in the club’s bulging trophy cabinet along with a promise of Champions League football.

This second season has seen some speculation of his future start to do its rounds before he put an end to it and it appears as though he’s not just talking about committing but is also willing to take action.

According to Fantasy Sports, The National report that Jose is about to sign a contract extension with United after his original deal was set to expire in the summer of 2019.

There were rumours that he was refusing to sign new terms with the club unless the board proved that they were willing to back him in the transfer market.

Reportedly Jose Mourinho was unhappy with how the Old Trafford hierarchy were unwilling to splash the cash where necessary last season.

There were claims that he was forced into choosing to sign either Romelu Lukaku or Antoine Griezmann and not both but it appears as though he’s put everything behind him and is now willing to put pen to paper.
