Henrikh Mkhitaryan pictured arriving at Carrington but not seen with the Manchester United squad

Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrived at Carrington on Wednesday morning but was not seen with the Manchester United squad amid an impending move to Arsenal.

Alexis Sanchez, having been pinched from under Manchester City’s nose, has agreed a four-and-a-half year contract with Man United.

But any deal for the Chile international hinges on Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading the other way, but his agent Mino Raiola has made it clear that no decision has been made by the Armenian just yet.

He was seen driving into the Carrington training base earlier on Wednesday, bearing the expression of a man about to return to playing in the Europa League.

But he was not, somewhat curiously, pictured with Man United teammates as they posed for photos with NFL Stars Josh Norman and Emmanuel Sanders.

It could just be that Mkhitaryan, born in the Soviet Union, isn’t the biggest NFL fan, but his absence from these photos speak volumes nonetheless – along with the resigned expression across his face as he drove into Carrington.

There seems to be no place for him at Old Trafford anymore. He has impressed in moments but largely drifted during his time under Jose Mourinho, and you sense that a move down to North London is just around the corner.
