Manchester United wanted this Chelsea star ahead of Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly wanted Chelsea star and former player Eden Hazard ahead of Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean’s move to Old Trafford is expected to be announced at any moment but fans may be surprised to hear who was the Portuguese manager’s first target.

Mourinho and Hazard worked together during his spell at the Blues and appears as though he was willing to go back to his former club to raid them once more.

United already sealed Nemanja Matic‘s transfer from Stamford Bridge in the summer and the Serbian has already been an instant hit so it may not be such a surprise that the former Real Madrid man was willing to go back for another trusted former player of his.

Sanchez though may not be too delighted to hear the news but will perhaps move on from it quickly as he seals his reported dream transfer.

According to the Express, Don Balon report that Jose initially wanted to sign Chelsea’s Belgian star Eden before turning his attention to Arsenal’s Alexis.

The Belgian international’s future is not secure and it appears as though the tactician wanted to take advantage of the situation.

Instead Jose Mourinho was reportedly told that Eden Hazard is not looking for a transfer other than to Madrid should Zinedine Zidane’s side show interest.

With rumours surfacing of Cristiano Ronaldo being unsettled in the Spanish capital once more, Hazard’s dream could come true sooner than he expected.

Either way, Sanchez will be happy things worked out in the end in his favour, should his move to Old Trafford be completed.
