Manchester United’s David de Gea set to stay despite Real Madrid interest: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United star David de Gea is set to dismiss any interest from Real Madrid in what will surely be music to fans’ ears.

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with the La Liga giants for a couple of season now and it appears as though every time the transfer window opens the drama is reignited.

De Gea came close to a move to Madrid previously with supporters having a faulty fax machine to thank for the transfer not coming to fruition.

He’s since committed his career to United, signing a new contract and has appeared to move on from Zinedine Zidane’s side even with renewed interest.

The news comes after Jose Mourinho told reporters he’d love to keep the Spaniard for as long as possible and reports emerged of the club willing to open contract negotiations.

According to the Express, the Daily Mail report that David has no intention of joining Madrid and has made that clear to the Red Devils as well.

David de Gea is without a doubt the number one keeper at Manchester United if not the world and so it makes sense to try to tie him down for the future.

It’s also nice for fans to hear of the goalkeeper’s commitment to the club after the mess that happened previously that seemed to suggest his heart lay elsewhere.

With United on the path to restoring their former glory, perhaps De Gea has been impressed with Mourinho’s management and wants to create a lasting legacy with the club.
