Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly willing to call it quits on his time in Spain and return to former club Manchester United.
The Red Devils were famously responsible for the Portuguese international’s rise to superstardom by taking a skinny boy from Sporting and turning him into the footballing great the world knows today.
Despite Ronaldo’s fantastic time at United, he always had a dream to play in Spain and completed a move to Real for a then world record fee.
Since completing his move though, the talented and versatile attacker has consistently been linked with a move back to Old Trafford.
Often a trick to earn himself a bigger pay check with the Spanish giants, the 32 year old is apparently more serious about things this time around.
According to the Daily Star, Don Balon report that Cristiano wishes to quit Madrid and is willing to take a pay cut to force a move to the Manchester.
After tax problems and Real Madrid’s apparent inability to truly value him, it appears as though the footballing athlete is ready to call it quits.
However, he is aware that Manchester United will be unwilling to pay his current high wages of £350k a week for an ageing legend and is in turn happy to take a pay-cut to force through a move.
Reports of Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to United were expected to put an end to rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo’s own move to Old Trafford but apparently that’s not the case.
