Pundit and former England manager Steve McClaren has claimed that Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez will be a huge boost to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are expected to announce the Chilean’s arrival at the club at any moment in a transfer that’s widely regarded as a bargain.
United have managed to convince Arsenal to part with one of their best players in return for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a straight swap deal.
No cash will be exchanged by either club and Sanchez is sure to add more quality to the club’s current set of international stars.
McClaren believes that while his wages may cause a rift amongst the squad, Alexis is clearly a top talent worthy of any Premier League side.
According to Sport 360, Steve told BBC Radio 5: “Any manager worth his salt would love to have Sanchez in their team. Sanchez coming in for the second half of the season at Manchester United is a huge boost to them.
“He has got that experience and toughness, he wins games and he is a leader. It will lift the level of the whole club.”
Alexis Sanchez will arrive at Manchester United with a position in the starting XI surely guaranteed and specially reserved for him.
Although fans initially worried that his preference to play as a left winger or striker would mean a halt in the developments of Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford there’s since been a report claiming otherwise.
News has emerged that Jose Mourinho sees Sanchez as a right winger, offering him the club’s famous number seven shirt that previously idols wore such as David Beckham.
The position isn’t unknown to the Chilean who is comfortable performing in any of the attacking positions but out on the right he’ll undoubtedly add width to the side.
Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan typically play in that position but neither are natural wingers and have tendencies to cut inside with the ball, leaving United to be far too narrow.
