Reports have recently surfaced of Valencia’s interest in Manchester United star and Spain international Juan Mata amidst the Alexis Sanchez transfer drama.
The Red Devils are supposedly close to concluding the move for the Chilean finally but it’s a transfer that puts Mata’s position at the club under threat.
Fans were initially concerned that the Sanchez deal meant that both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial‘s development will suffer but reports have since claimed that the Arsenal star will feature on the right wing.
The Spaniard typically features out wide on the right flank and will surely be replaced by the incoming man should the deal be completed.
Valencia are said to be wishing to take advantage of the situation and re-sign their former player in a shocking revelation.
According to Football Transfer Tavern, The Daily Star report that Valencia are attempting to commit Juan to sign a pre-contract deal.
The same report claims that the attacking midfielder’s contract wasn’t extended as widely claimed and instead it will still run out this summer.
By signing Juan Mata on a pre-contract, Valencia are trying to sign him for free in what will surely be a bargain transfer by the Spanish club.
Manchester United fans certainly love the player but will perhaps be fine with seeing him move on should Sanchez be amongst their squad.
It would also be a transfer that makes sense when all things are considered given that Mata isn’t a player that seems to fit into Jose Mourinho‘s new tactics at United.
