Manchester United have expressed interest in Manchester City target Fred but are not actively pursuing the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder.
Jose Mourinho dealt a blow to his nemesis across town by acquiring the services of Alexis Sanchez after it looked almost certain he would move to the Ethiad.
But according to M.E.N‘s Samuel Luckhurst, Man United admire the Brazilian but are not currently pursuing him ahead of the summer.
City continuing to work on deal for Shkahtar midfielder Fred but told United ‘aren’t in for him’ at the moment. He’s admired by #mufc but no move made for him.

The worst thing United’s board can do now is treat the Sanchez signing as job done – a successful and emphatic affront to Man City’s supremacy in the transfer market since Pep Guardiola’s arrival.
Capturing the Chile international was a superb effort, but it needs to be the start of something bigger: an ambitious, coordinated, ruthless scalp of the best talent available next summer.
Despite the improvements Sanchez will make at Old Trafford, his arrival doesn’t change the notion that, since June 2016, City have signed nine more players than United – something that has been made clear on the pitch this season.
The club’s hierarchy has made the perfect start to 2018 but, at the moment, that’s all it is.
