Alexis Sanchez has already shown his world-class quality in training since his move to Manchester United earlier this week, defender Luke Shaw has revealed.
The English left-back claimed that the Man United squad is delighted with the addition of Sanchez, who penned a four-and-a-half year deal at Old Trafford on Monday.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a favourite amongst both fans and players, left to join Arsenal in the move, a rare straight-player swap deal. However, though the players will miss Mkhitaryan, Shaw says they’ve already been impressed with the Chilean forward.
“We’re really happy, obviously he’s a phenomenal player,” Shaw said, via Flow Sports.
“One of the best in the world, the quality he’ll bring to the side will surely boost our attacking threat. We’ve already seen his quality in training and some of the things he’s done is a joke.”
It’s a fantastic signing for the club and Sanchez will be involved to some extent in Friday night’s FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Yeovil Town at Huish Park.
Starting in rather modest surroundings if Sanchez does indeed make his debut at the League Two side’s ground, the 29-year-old has been tipped for huge things by ex-players turned pundits.
Compared to Carlos Tevez as well as Robin van Persie and Eric Cantona, Sanchez has been hailed as everything from world-class to priceless.
He’s got a lot to live up to, with many claiming that Sanchez makes Jose Mourinho’s side contenders for the UEFA Champions League season.
It will be tricky fitting him in, some shifting around will have to be done with Mourinho now having in excess of 5 players who favour the left flank. However, United fans will be excited to see Sanchez wherever he plays, particularly with his new teammates hailing him like this.
