Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been blasted by pundit Martin Keown for his inability to judge his squad correctly.
The Portuguese manager has just recently completed the transfer of Alexis Sanchez’s from Arsenal in return for Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way.
Although United fans are clearly delighted with the move, they’ve also acknowledged the loss of the clearly talent Armenian international.
Supporters were saddened that things didn’t workout for Mkhitaryan at Old Trafford and wished him luck in the future with the Gunners.
Keown though believes that Mourinho got it all wrong and thinks that he could have potentially handed Arsene Wenger a lifeline with the signing.
“Mourinho does not always get it right with players. Look at Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah. They have been two of the best players in the Premier League this season and both were let go by Mourinho at Chelsea.”
The pundit’s criticism is a little unusual given that neither Henrikh or Luke Shaw wished to leave from the club at any moment in time.
The versatile attacker had preferred to leave the club in better circumstances but was left in a difficult position after news of Sanchez’s possible transfer.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan knew that he would’ve been vilified if he remained at the Red Devils and the transfer for Alexis fell through.
Unfortunately he had no choice but to move to the London side and hope to perform better there than he did under Jose’s management.
Shaw meanwhile has insisted he’s happy at Manchester United, particularly recently since he’s gotten a run of games in the starting XI and has impressed.
The young Englishman has even received rare praise from his manager and is aiming to hold onto the left-back spot for the next decade for the club.
