AS Monaco star and Manchester United target Fabinho has recently admitted that his time at his club may be coming to an end.
The Brazilian star previously spoke about his desire to leave in the upcoming summer but his recent comments are rather scathing.
Either way, United are sure to be interested in the midfielder after their own impending troubles in the centre of the park.
The Red Devils will be without Michael Carrick once the season ends as the Englishman is set to retire and join the club’s coaching staff.
The French side’s star though seems to just be keen to leave his current club by any means necessary and has flirted with Jose Mourinho‘s side before.
According to Goal, Fabinho said to Lance!: “If the right move comes up, perhaps a change in league or to a club with a bigger structure and higher ambitions, I would love that.
“My time at Monaco has been great, I managed to win a title, now I believe my time here might be coming to an end.
“I know that the club’s goal is to take second place [in Ligue 1] and earn a spot in the Champions League, not to sign big-name players but rather youngsters to give them their start.
“I believe that I have been through that, I came here as a nobody, made my name in the club, achieved things; so maybe I need something new, a new challenge.”
Fabinho would surely represent a good buy for Manchester United as they bid to stock up on midfielders and aim for titles.
The Brazilian has already publicly stated his intent to leave which will certainly leave Mourinho in the driving seat of negotiations and it’s likely he can be bought for a relatively cheap price.
Jose is without a doubt aware of the problems arising in midfield in his team with even Marouane Fellaini‘s future currently uncertain.
The Belgian’s contract ends in the summer and he’s yet to commit to new terms, leaving a spot for Fabinho wide open should he choose to come.
Ander Herrera has also had a rather poor season compared to his last campaign and despite putting in a goalscoring display in his last appearance, most expect him to remain a back up player.
