Jose Mourinho discusses Manchester United’s recent good form

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has discussed his players recent good form, explaining why the club have managed to put together a winning run.

After losing to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup, the Red Devils experienced three consecutive draws vs the likes of Leicester City, Burnley and Southampton.

This began to concern fans but United quickly put the disappointing results behind them by beating Everton 2-0 away from home.

Mourinho’s men followed it up with wins vs Derby and Yeovil in the FA Cup and Stoke and Burnley in the Premier League to almost conclude a fine January.

The final match of the month comes up against Tottenham at Wembley on the 31st of January where a win will be necessary if there are to be any hopes of winning the title.

According to ITV, Jose said to MUTV: “We have managed to win every match in January, I think three Premier League matches and two cup matches, so five victories makes a happy camp.

“We are playing with a good balance. It is not easy to not concede goals because of the high quality of football in this country but scoring goals and winning matches is very important because we need points. We are playing well and we deserved these results.”

With 14 Premier League matches left in the season, Manchester United are still 12 points behind fierce rivals and league leaders Manchester City.

Spurs are currently in fifth place, eight points behind Jose Mourinho‘s side and will certainly aim to close the gap on the Champions League spots.

United though will be targeting a win to put pressure on City and at the same time extend their gap between the London club so that their position in second place is secure.

Chelsea are also breathing down the Red Devils’ neck too and are just three points away, making a loss to Tottenham an extremely poor result.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men come into the match on the back of two consecutive draws and so Mourinho will surely hope his team take advantage of their recent good form.
