Patrick Kluivert opens up on Manchester United target Justin Kluivert’s future

Patrick Kluivert has been busy talking about his son’s future amid Manchester United’s interest in Ajax star Justin Kluivert.

The young winger has made a huge impression in the Dutch league, so much so that a host of the world’s best clubs are lining up to sign him.

The 18 year old is widely regarded to have a similar potential to his father who was once considered to be a legendary footballer.

Justin admitted his desire to leave his home nation for one of Europe’s bigger clubs but has decided to remain at Ajax for now.

His father though believes the youngster should stay for more than just the current season in a bid to continue developing.

According to Team Talk, Patrick said to Cadena SER: “He [Justin Kluivert] is doing things really well and the most important thing is that he continues like so.

“I have told him that he is 18 and he has to be calm and make himself stronger, [and] that he stays for a year or more at Ajax. He should not leave his country soon. It’s difficult to say no to Barca, but also to other big teams.

“He should choose the team that responds most to his play and not to the one that pays him more money. I see my son more in the Spanish league, he will choose his future with his heart but he has to have his head and feet on the ground.”

Jose Mourinho has already denied that he will be investing in the attacking areas in the next summer transfer window as he turns his attention to other more urgent areas.

However, the Portuguese manager may be keen to sign Kluivert soon in a bid to beat the competition for him and can consider loaning him back out if need be.

United currently have Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata as the options out wide but some players are more comfortable in other areas of the field.

Lingard and Mata prefer the attacking midfield berth whilst Rashford and Martial see themselves as natural strikers.

Whether Mourinho is truly interested in signing Justin is yet to be seen but so far there hasn’t been any real movement made and it’s just mere speculation.
