Paul Ince has backed Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku to continue his fine form and help the club beat Crystal Palace on Monday.
The Belgian put in a man of the match performance vs Chelsea, scoring a goal and assisting the winner to help Jose Mourinho’s men win 2-1.
The match was a crucial one in United’s race to secure Champions League football and they managed to win all three points.
Former player Ince believes Lukaku will have more to say in the club’s next fixture as well as they face the London side.
Another win is expected and needed given how the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham continue to breathe down the Red Devils’ necks.
According to the Sport Review, Paul said to the Daily Express: “That win over Chelsea last week was crucial for Man United. You could see how much their confidence had dropped recently.
“It was also Romelu Lukaku’s best game in a red kit, and I’m going to back him to go on and have another great game on Monday night.”
Romelu’s performance vs the Blues was certainly his best in a Manchester United shirt and for several good reasons.
The obvious one is that the striker dismissed criticism of him going missing during big matches by single handedly winning the match for his team.
Romelu Lukaku’s hold up play, link up play and finishing were all on display in a game his side desperately needed him to show up for.
Much of Jose Mourinho’s tactics relies heavily on the former Everton man plucking the ball from the sky, laying it off to a teammate then getting into the box to finish the chance himself.
Not only did he do so again one of the league’s best but he also did it playing against Chelsea’s back five.
