Gary Neville predicts Manchester United will finish above Liverpool in the Premier League

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United favourite Gary Neville has predicted his former club to finish above Liverpool in the Premier League this season.

The two clubs will soon face off in a clash that could potentially shape how the top four will look like at the end of the campaign.

Along with the two rivals, Tottenham and Chelsea are also fighting for the remaining Champions League positions that are left behind league leaders Manchester City.

While Neville admits the match between United and the Reds could prove decisive, he still believes that regardless of what happens, his former side will finish in a higher spot.

The former right-back featured in many rival clashes against Liverpool in the past and knows just the fixture means for both clubs.

According to the Sport Review, Gary said on his Sky Sports podcast: “The interesting game is the one we’ve got in a couple of weeks, the Manchester United-Liverpool game at Old Trafford.

“That will go a long way to deciding it but I think United will come out on top overall this season.”

The Red Devils will be hoping to take advantage of Jurgen Klopp’s shaky defence while simultaneously stopping their free flowing attacking.

Mohamed Salah has proven to be one of the league’s most in form player and will certainly be Liverpool’s key man on the day.

Manchester United will be hoping their attack can click once more and enjoy more creativity than they perhaps have enjoyed in recent matches.

Jose Mourinho will definitely be relying on Romelu Lukaku putting in a man of the match display once more as he did against Chelsea.

United managed to beat the Blues due to the Belgian’s outstanding performance as he singlehandedly dragged his team to all three points.

Not only did Lukaku score the winner but he also managed to set up Jesse Lingard for the winner in what was easily his best display in a red shirt.
