Jose Mourinho and Manchester United add Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure to their wish-list: report

Manchester United have reportedly added Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure to their wish-list as they aim to bolster their midfield next summer.

Whatever business Jose Mourinho hopes to conclude in the upcoming transfer window, he should certainly attempt to do so before the World Cup begins.

Quite often after international tournaments players’ values spike up after good performances and so it would make sense to finish deals quickly.

With Doucoure their may be less of an inclination to do so due to him never featuring for France in the senior set up but that may soon change.

With seven goals and three assists to his name for the London club, the midfielder may be in with a shout to feature for his international team.

According to Yahoo! Sport, the Mirror report that Abdoulaye is on the Red Devils wish-list with Jose sending scouts to watch him during Watford’s match vs West Brom.

From those statistics alone it’s clear to see why Mourinho reportedly wishes to add the Premier League man to his team.

United’s midfielders aren’t particularly known to be goal-scorers despite Nemanja Matic’s fantastic effort vs Crystal Palace on Monday night.

With Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini‘s contracts running out in the summer, there would certainly be room for Abdoulaye Doucoure at the club.

Manchester United are in desperate need for a midfielder in the same mould as Paul Pogba as none of their other players offer the same services.

Along with the aforementioned names, Scott McTominay and Ander Herrera are hardly known for their attacking talents either.
