Manchester United fans were full of praise for Nemanja Matic after his performance vs Brighton in the FA Cup at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho‘s men won the match 2-0 with the Serbian involved in both goals for his team to help send them through to the semi-finals of the competition.
United desperately needed a reaction from their players following the dire 2-1 loss to Sevilla midweek and they certainly got that from Matic.
The former Chelsea man has proven to be one of the signings of the season for Mourinho and the longer the campaign goes on, the more bizarre it becomes on how his former side could ever let him go.
Not particularly known for his goalscoring or creativity, Nemanja made an impact in both categories, scoring the Red Devils second and assisting Romelu Lukaku for the opener.
What a night of football heritage. Nemanja Matić a goal and an assist. Another Romelu Lukaku goal. Manchester United into the semi finals. A drab performance, but one step closer.

Mourinho's boys -Lukaku and Matic – doing the business. Two constants. Two reliable performers. Two crosses. Two goals. Two who care.

While the midfielder was expected to immediately become a starting XI player after signing from the Blues he still has had his fair share of competition.
Jose’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation often means there’s only room for two of the aforementioned names to start yet Nemanja Matic has been his manager’s most reliable player.
At times he’s appeared burnout or overworked but he’s hardly ever put in a terrible shift in midfield and it’s a credit to him that he’s made the burden of losing Carrick hardly noticeable.
The Englishman has suffered from a heart problem and has been out for the majority of the season but Matic has been excellent in his absence.
