Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in Bayern Munich’s James Rodriguez as they make contact with his entourage.
Despite Jose Mourinho publicly insisting that he’s happy with the club’s current attackers, rumours continue to swirl on which stars could potentially move to Old Trafford.
Rodriguez would be expected to play as an attacking midfielder in particular which is a position that Mourinho has occasional attempted to fit his star Chilean in.
Perhaps the Portuguese manager feels that Sanchez is better off elsewhere and is in need of a true number 10 midfielder.
According to the Daily Star, Don Balon claim that Jose wants to sign James, making contact with his entourage in the hopes that he can lead the Red Devils’ new project.
Mata is a player that is being touted to leave the Red Devils this summer as never ending rumours continue to link him away from the club.
Jose has previously insisted that Spaniard is not going to leave the club and so it makes more sense that there’s another reason in the interest in James Rodriguez if it is true.
The former Chelsea boss is known for his fondness for the 4-2-3-1 formation as well as having two players per position in order for competitiveness to thrive.
If that’s the case then Manchester United are short one player in the attacking front four and so Rodriguez arriving would make sense.
