Paul Ince: This is Luke Shaw’s last chance at Manchester United

by Marwan Harraz

Former Manchester United man Paul Ince has warned Luke Shaw that this could be his last chance at the club as rumours continue to circulate on his future.

The Englishman was recently hauled off at half time by a furious Jose Mourinho who publicly criticised him for his poor performance vs Brighton.

United won the match 2-0 but it wasn’t enough to keep the club’s stars from being targeted as the Portuguese manager spared no man.

Mourinho protected his players following the shock loss to Sevilla in the Champions League and appeared to be disgusted with how they repaid the faith with a ‘scared’ performance vs Brighton.

Shaw though got the lions share of the criticism and reports now claim he will leave in the summer to either Chelsea or Tottenham with Ince believing time is running out for him.

According to the Sport Review, Paul said to Paddy Power: “Ashley Young is getting older, and Shaw should be grabbing the chance to be the first choice left-back with two hands, but he doesn’t seem interested. This is his last chance.”

Ashely Young’s fine form has seen him surprisingly become the Red Devils’ first choice left-back ahead of other candidates.

Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind were both also given opportunities to make the position their own but failed to do so and have been pretty much shunned away from the starting XI since.

That put additional pressure on Young to perform but he rose to the occasion fantastically well and won over his manager’s faith as well as deservedly being called up to represent his nation.

Luke was also given a chance to shine but put in a mixed bag of performances with Jose praising him and criticising him on different occasions.
