Former Tottenham star Ryan Mason has claimed that Jose Mourinho‘s Manchester United need a massive overhaul of players.
The Portuguese manager has brought in a fair few players since coming to Old Trafford last season but it appears that even more quality is needed.
However, United fans have also recognised the need for some dead wood to be moved on from the David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal eras.
Reports also claim that the board at the club feel the same way and will back Jose when the summer transfer window opens up.
According to the Sport Review, Mason said to Sky Sports: “I don’t think so [United have the quality]. They need a massive overhaul of players to win the title next season.”
For all the additions and the players who were sold, it’s clear that there are players who simply don’t fit in with Jose Mourinho‘s philosophy or are even good enough for the Red Devils.
The defence appears to be the main area for Mourinho to address and since he’s already confirmed his happiness with the club’s attacking talent, it seems he will focus on strengthening his back line.
