Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof has hailed his teammate Alexis Sanchez’s performance in the victory over Swansea at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho‘s men started the game brightly and found themselves 2-0 up within twenty minutes of the first half despite being expected to face stiff opposition.
Romelu Lukaku and Sanchez were both on the scoresheet on Saturday and it was the latter who also grabbed the assist for the former.
The Chilean’s performance was one of his best since joining United in January and could’ve easily been the man of the match.
Lindelof was as pleased as the fans were and praised Alexis for his effort in what proved to be a crucial win in the top four race.
According to the Sport Review, Victor said to MUTV: “I think Alexis also had a very good game and he showed his movement and quality with the ball is great so I am very happy for him.”
Alexis Sanchez was buzzing all over the pitch as he normally does and found himself in plenty of good positions as he could’ve potentially grabbed another goal.
The former Barcelona man perhaps benefitted from the change of scenery after returning from his international duty with Chile.
Mourinho explained why he selected Sanchez ahead of Marcus Rashford despite being in poor form, stating that the former was better in tight spaces.
The Swans were always expected to play in a deep and narrow shape so the decision to select the more experienced, versatile attacker was not only repaid but also proved to be the correct one.
Rashford did come off the bench but failed to make an impact though he didn’t have a necessarily poor display and was just a victim of difficult circumstances.
