Barcelona hoping to secure Luke Shaw on a season long loan in the summer: report

by Marwan Harraz

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Luke Shaw on loan in order to take advantage of the situation that’s going on at Manchester United.

The Englishman has been linked with a move to the Spanish side and while initial reports were putting it down as an actual transfer, there are now claims that they’re only interested in a loan move.

Shaw’s relationship to Jose Mourinho is reported to be the main reason why he believes his future no longer remains at the club.

The Portuguese manager is said to believe the left-back can still become one of the world’s best but won’t stand in his way if he wishes to leave.

The youngster has plenty of interest in him from English clubs and clubs from abroad but perhaps a loan move would suit both parties.

According to Goal, the Sun report that the La Liga giants want to bring Luke in on loan as a way to cut costs due to their excessive spending habits.

A change in environment could be exactly what the former Southampton man needs to get his career back on track before returning to his parent club.

However, the move makes no sense for United as they are unlikely to gain much financially whilst making themselves weaker in a position that’s already proven to be their achilles heal.

Mourinho has pinned a lot of his hopes on Luke Shaw coming good and so it would be strange to believe a move would be of any use.
