Manchester United star Eric Bailly is looking to end the current Premier League campaign well following the club’s shock loss to West Brom on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho‘s men are in the race for the top four but will know anything short of second place will be considered a failure.
United have been second for much of the campaign after a bright start that initially saw them challenge for the title.
Bailly has recognised that a strong finish is needed in order to keep their place and solidify their status as being the second best team in England this season.
Mourinho will have a fully fit defence ready for the first time in a while but the Ivorian is not afraid of the competition for places.
According to the club’s official website, Eric said to MUTV: “It does [give the manager options]. It is a good position to be in, to have the defence fully fit and ready. It bodes well for the remaining matches ahead of us.
“I hope we can remain with a solid defence, as do the others, and we can keep some clean sheets in those games so that we see the season out well.
“I’m fine. I had a few difficult moments with my past injury but I am fully recovered now. I came back fitter and I hope I can take all the playing opportunities that present themselves now.”
The pair are the only two centre-backs Jose invested in himself but will need to put behind them their respective injury and adaptation issues to permanently hold onto their spots in the starting XI next season.
