Atletico Bilbao to approach Manchester United’s Ander Herrera: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United’s Ander Herrera is reportedly a target for Atletico Bilbao in the upcoming summer transfer window as they attempt to revamp their squad.

The Spaniard was initially bought from the club by Louis van Gaal but experienced his best season under Jose Mourinho last year when he was named player of the season.

Herrera currently has a contract with United that expires next summer and while he mentioned that talks have begun he also claimed nothing was decided yet.

The midfielder is one of numerous stars whose futures appear to be up in the air with Marouane Fellaini and Anthony Martial representing a few examples.

The former Bilbao man may be keen to return to his home country and could even go on the cheap considering how the Red Devils would want to avoid losing him for free next year.

According to Football Espana, El Correo report that the La Liga club will make an attractive offer for Ander by making him one of their highest earning players.

Ander Herrera appears to be very passionate about Manchester United and has slowly started to return to form in recent matches.

However, a move back to Spain may be too tempting and he could potentially be promised more minutes there than he would be under Jose Mourinho.
