The midfielder’s contract is up in the summer and much has been made recently of the Belgian’s position in negotiations.
According to Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan have joined the list of potential suitors to sign him on a free should the 30-year-old fail to strike a deal at Old Trafford.
Fellaini’s comments last week infuriated United fans; his performance against Brighton pushed them over the edge.
For a player to come out in public and effectively say he is holding the club to ransom, that he is basically waiting until the club gives him what he wants, and then produce a totally disinterested, disjointed performance in the middle a few days later is something United fans shouldn’t have to put up with.
But forget AC Milan. Fellaini is getting the terms he wants in the summer and United, in turn, will only make one midfield signing at a time when they evidently need two.
