Paul Pogba explains why Manchester derby was his favourite moment of April

Paul Pogba has pinpointed his match winning performance against Manchester City as his favourite moment of April after winning the club’s ‘Player of the Month’ award.

The Frenchman put in his finest performance the season during the second half at the Ethiad, claiming two goals in quick succession and fronting a remarkable second half comeback.

Powerful displays against Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Bournemouth, along with a goal against Arsenal, ensured he won the club’s Player of the Month’ award for April.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Pogba was quick to note that the game against Man City was unquestionably the highlight of an excellent month.

“I would definitely say City is the best memory, even if they did win the league,” he said.

“I’m very happy. I would like to thank everybody that voted for me. But the most important thing for me is I would like us to finish second and to win the FA Cup. That would be great for everyone.”

Not many would have predicted this turnaround from Pogba back in the gloomy months of February and March, during which the Frenchman appeared to lose a measure of his manager’s trust.

But his response since the international break has been indicative of a player who has more than enough fight to accompany his flair. Mourinho, through dropping him, implored Pogba to produce something more – something different – and he has responded emphatically.
