There is a new banner up in the Stretford End ahead of Manchester United’s match against Watford at Old Trafford on the final day of the Premier League season this Sunday.
Tributes have come in from all over the world for legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson after he had emergency surgery on a brain haemorrhage last weekend.
The news that Ferguson was rushed to hospital with a serious illness last Saturday shocked the whole of the football world, especially those associated with United, where he spent 27 years of his phenomenal managerial career.
‘Every single one of us loves Sir Alex Ferguson‘ is what the red banner reads with an image of the 76-year-old great in the centre, a statement that couldn’t be anymore truer. The togetherness in hope that he quickly recovers from the health scare proves that perfectly.
Ferguson came out of intensive care on Wednesday and is now being treated as an inpatient at Salford Royal Hospital while his rehabilitation kicks through the gears.
There is a long road of recovery left, but he is certainly on the mend and, hopefully, we will see him back in the stands cheering on Manchester United sooner rather than later.
